2020 Census -- Counting Everyone

Everyone Counts & Everyone Needs To Be Counted!
2020 Census

Starting today, households across America will begin receiving an invitation to participate in the national Census. An undercount—because some people may choose to not participate in the 2020 Census—can adversely impact where you live for years to come, at least until the next Census in 2030.

Census figures play a crucial role in determining how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding are distributed each year. The Census will also decide how much congressional representation each state has. Some states will gain seats in the House of Representatives; others will lose them.

But Census data is also crucial for crime analysis and more. As COMBAT Director Vince Ortega points out, "We need good data to make good decisions."

Data drives COMBAT's decisions about where to allocate resources, with accurate data about population density and other factors—data the Census Bureau collects—being crucial.
