COMBAT STRIVIN

STRIVIN' Initiative Expanding To Midtown KC
Your Invited To July 7 Zoom Meeting

Dear COMBAT-funded agencies:

COMBAT has established its fifth STRIVIN' Hub, located at 3735 Wabash, the home of the Greater Metropolitan Church of Christ. Senior Pastor Branden Mins will be COMBAT’s Hub Director and Resource Coordinator. I am formally inviting you to the next monthly STRIVIN' meeting for this neighborhood, via zoom. If you cannot attend, please have a designee in attendance.

The COMBAT STRIVIN' initiative is focused on networking, coalition building and eliminating silos by bringing together all of COMBAT-funded agencies in the neighborhood, from Treatment and Prevention to the Police, Prosecutors Office, Family Court, Circuit Court, Drug Court, Drug Tasks Force and beyond.

Additionally, key partners include the school district administrators, (Dr. Lateshia Woodley, KCPS is on our team), elected officials, faith-based leaders and concerned citizens, all coming together to address violence in Jackson County neighborhoods through a more holistic approach.

The emphasis is on developing resource referrals in a comprehensive, collaborative and coordinated strategy in each “violent crime hot spot” that COMBAT targets. The STRIVIN' Hubs serve as a central "one-stop shop," where all program resources can be directed towards our most vulnerable youth and their families, so that true wrap-around services can be provide.

To ensure that no client referrals fall through the cracks, COMBAT’s STRIVIN' initiative has expanded the COMBAT Connection database, which is built on the Community Care Link planform, for the purpose of collaborative community case management.

The Community Care Link database is HIPPA compliant software that the COMBAT community can utilize to improve the lives of vulnerable people and empower the human services practitioners who serve them. The software is now available as an online application, via any smartphone, where first responders and any partner agencies can make a social service referral in real-time.

Our first zoom meeting will be on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 1 pm.
