Ivanhoe Youth Employment Program is designed to meet the needs of community youth and supply resources for youth that would have been otherwise overlooked in the workforce.

Ivanhoe Neighborhood Youth Employment Program (INYEP) focuses on cultivating the next generation of innovative leaders. With focus on youth ages, 13 – 27, INYEP addresses crime, violence, substance abuse and cyber bullying by offering employment opportunities designed to expand youth’s exposure to careers and jobs in the community.
INYEP partners with local businesses to supply job opportunities in Landscaping, STEM Project Support, Summer Camp Workers, Receptionist Assistants, After School Assistants, Urban Farming, Construction and the Community Kitchen.
Ivanhoe Neighborhood Youth Employment Program aligns with several of COMBAT’s Anti-Violence Areas of Focus, including:
- programs that work with victims of domestic violence;
- high-risk students identified by schools;
- children of incarcerated parents; and
- programs that address bullying—including targets of bullying and those bullying others (this includes cyber-bullying).
Ivanhoe Youth Employment Program is designed to meet the needs of community youth and supply resources for youth that would have been otherwise overlooked in the workforce.
This program will pair youth up with community employers who will hold youth accountable for their actions and decisions. This will empower youth to be responsible as well as provide a positive and safe environment where youth will be allowed to take initiative, trouble shoot and gain experience.
Through this program, youth can avoid negative consequences such as school dropout, violent crimes, engagement in the juvenile justice system, substance use/addiction and pregnancy. Instead, youth can achieve better long-term outcomes such as high school graduation, attending institutions of higher education or trade school, and employment.
