Evidence-Based Treatment
The Recovery Health Services (RHS) program of TMC Behavioral Health provides evidenced-based outpatient substance use disorder and mental health treatment. With COMBAT funding, we offer Level 3 and 4 treatment services ,which include comprehensive assessment and treatment planning; individual substance abuse counseling; groups designed to specifically address substance use disorders; psychoeducation about the disease of addiction and psychiatric conditions; and community support.
Treating Adolescents & Adults
Our target population includes adolescents aged 12-17, and adults residing in the urban core areas of Jackson County who experience substance use disorders and the related legal issues that often accompany illicit substance use.
Motivational interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) are the primary treatment modes. Treatment services specifically focus on the direct correlation of mental illness symptoms and substance use, and accommodate clients who are in various stages of change. Treatment planning is individualized -- this means that all clients are involved in the development of their goals, steps to reaching the goals, services and interventions.
Developing Skills To Refrain From Drug & Alcohol Abuse
Through participation in this COMBAT-funded treatment program, clients develop skills necessary to refrain from drug and alcohol use/abuse, complete their probation, maintain employment, increase personal and family functioning, and avoid further encounters with the criminal justice system.
The decision to take the first step toward recovery takes courage. Participants in this COMBAT-funded program will have additional opportunities for connection to Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), vocational and educational programs, and housing assistance programs offered by TMC Behavioral Health. All of these services are provided by a compassionate team of professionals that demonstrate the meaning of TMC Behavioral Health Noble Cause: dedicating our professional lives to accepting people as they are today, bearing hope for their future, and using compassion to empower them.
